The truth was that Marshal Luther Gibbs knew exactly who Elinor was. His betrothed wife. On his way out of Elinor’s house, he told her his name, and then Elinor recognized him as well.
But Elinor had come there for a reason, right? She could not just leave with Luther. Besides, she did not even give it a thought because she had no idea who Luther was, he was a stranger to her.
Part 2: Full Story of Goodbye My General
Goodbye My General Movie narrates the story of Elinor Silva. As a five-year-old girl, she witnessed her mother being murdered. Elinor’s mother was killed by Elinor’s father. He beat her to death while his mistress watched on with glee.
Burying Elinor’s mother was not enough to have the crying Elinor leave her side. She cried until she was also covered in sand since she won’t leave.

Now, after fourteen years, Elinor would return to her home, the place where her mother was killed. She would come back in a bid to avenge her mother’s death. That is where Elinor would be found and caught up in a tiresome but adventurous situation.
The same night Elinor returned; she was taking a bath when an intruder barged in. It was a young man who held a knife to Elinor’s neck, asking her to do anything he said.
This man was none other than, Marshal Luther Gibbs.
Luther was being chased by assassins, that is how he ended up sneaking into Elinor’s privacy. He was looking for a place to hide.
Besides, the movie lets us know that Luther knew who Elinor was from the onset. It was however, a coincidence that he entered her house the way he did.
Before Luther left Elinor’s house that night, he saw her naked. He had to take a dive into her bath because the assassins walked in. That was where he saw Elinor naked.
As soon as Luther got out of the water and was on his way, he told Elinor to meet him at the dock after a while so that she could leave with him. He said that she belonged to him.
It would sound absurd at first, but later on, Elinor would understand what the Marshal meant.
But Elinor had returned for a reason, right? Could she just get up and leave? Even if she wanted to go with Luther, what about the reason she returned to her hometown? Of course, she didn’t show up at the dock, causing Luther to become anxious.
Luther would find Elinor again, and this time, he would snatch her and take her with him. Elinor would also meet her biological father with his family.
Seeing how big she had grown; her biological father would accept her back in a bid to cover up for his past. But that is exactly in Elinor’s plan.
All her enemies would be brought down.
Part3: Concise Review of Goodbye My General
Goodbye My General movie, comes very correctly and interestingly. This is one of those Chinese movies that would have you stuck. I dare anyone who watches this movie not to watch it to the end.
The core emotion, well, is obviously revenge. However, love also plays a distinct role in the scheme of events.
What would have made Elinor’s father beat Elinor’s mother up the way he did? He might have mentioned the reason while beating her. She accused him of having a mistress. Well, while beating her, he agreed that he had a mistress, so why did he still have to beat and kill her?
Since he had the go ahead to have a mistress without hiding it, that means he was not afraid of Elinor’s mother. Maybe he should have just left her to live in the pain of seeing him with another woman, right?
Why kill her?
Also, doing it in front of a child and burying the child in the process is also the height of wickedness and evil. Everyone has to watch this movie. I guarantee you that it is worth your time.
The plot between Elinor and Luther Gibbs is also one to talk indebtedly about. The writer of the movie did a fantastic job in coming up with such a character like Luther’s.
Also, the person chosen to cast the role was exceptional because he portrayed that role to its fullest capacity.
The mystery between Luther and Elinor was exciting. Who was such a man that would suddenly show up inside her bathroom, and declare that she belonged to him?
Luther felt like such a stranger to Elinor, meanwhile he was the closest person she had. The only family she had left.

When you talk about a classy movie, Goodbye My General is a typical example of such. The writer’s adaptability and capability shone to a great extent through this movie. It is so delightful.
Coming up with a plot that carries adventure, humor, romance, and other elements that would provoke emotion is to be applauded. Also, moving forward from delivering a good plot is building the characters that would embellish this plot.
